07 - 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
08 - 1/4 cup chicken broth
09 - 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
10 - 1 tbsp oyster sauce
11 - 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
12 - 2 tsp sesame oil
13 - 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
14 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
15 - 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

→ Noodles

16 - 8 oz uncooked lo mein noodles or spaghetti

→ Garnishes

17 - 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
18 - Extra sliced green onions

# Directions:

01 - In the crockpot, whisk together the soy sauce, chicken broth, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
02 - Add the chicken pieces to the sauce mixture and toss thoroughly to ensure even coating.
03 - Arrange the carrots, bell pepper, mushrooms, and most of the green onions over the chicken. Reserve the snow peas and a handful of green onions for later addition.
04 - Cover and cook on LOW setting for 3 1/2 hours, allowing the chicken to become tender and flavors to develop.
05 - After 3 1/2 hours, add the reserved snow peas to the crockpot and stir gently.
06 - Meanwhile, cook the lo mein noodles or spaghetti according to package instructions in a medium pot. Drain well and set aside.
07 - Stir the cooked noodles and reserved green onions into the crockpot. Toss gently to combine all ingredients with the sauce.
08 - Cover and let sit on WARM setting for 15–20 minutes, allowing the noodles to absorb the sauce and flavors to meld.
09 - Serve hot, garnished with toasted sesame seeds and extra sliced green onions.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The sauce develops this incredible depth while it simmers away, tasting like you spent hours at the stove instead of minutes
  • You get that crave-worthy lo mein flavor without standing over a wok or ordering expensive takeout
02 -
  • Adding the snow peas too early makes them mushy, so wait until the end
  • Letting the noodles sit in the sauce on WARM is what transforms good into amazing
03 -
  • Undercook the noodles slightly by a minute since they keep absorbing sauce
  • Double the sauce if you love your lo mein extra saucy like I do
